We are proud to join our western IAFF affiliates in raising money for Muscular Dystrophy Canada with Whitehorse’s first Rooftop Campout
Rooftop campouts in canada
It’s been over a decade since Rooftop Campouts were introduced in Alberta as another way for Fire Fighters, who have partnered with us since 1954, to challenge their communities to raise awareness and funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Rooftop Campouts have expanded nationwide and you can find one in every province throughout Canada.
It has been 65 years since the partnership between Fire Fighters and Muscular Dystrophy Canada began, and Whitehorse Fire Fighters were involved as far back as 1973. Since then, Whitehorse Fire Fighters have raised over $35,000 in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada and have set a goal of $2,000 for 2019.
Muscular Dystrophy Canada supports people affected by muscular dystrophy and related muscle diseases. Together, these rare conditions are referred to as “neuromuscular disorders.”
