Share the Spirit Yukon has grown in the last 10 years to become the biggest geographic Christmas support program in Canada covering communities across the territory. We work closely with Santa Clause and our partners to cover over 2000kms in all Yukon Communities and get our deliveries to the children & families who need it the most.

For Yukon Families in Need This Christmas (button to online application form below)
Who Can Apply:Open to families from Whitehorse, Dawson City, Teslin, Watson Lake, Haines Junction, Beaver Creek, Destruction Bay, Burwash Landing, Carmacks, Carcross, Tagish, Mayo, Ross River, Pelly Crossing, Faro, and Old Crow—regardless of religious or ethnic background.
Program Capacity:We are able to assist up to 600 families this year. Submitting your application early is important, as spaces fill quickly.
Application Deadlines:
Communities: Applications close December 1st
Whitehorse: Applications close December 6th
Sponsors/Adopt-a-Family: Accepted until December 8th
Once we reach 600 families, applications will close automatically.
Eligibility:To qualify, your youngest child must be 14 years old or younger. If you have a child in that age range, we will also provide gifts for older siblings up to age 16.
If you are pregnant, you qualify and will receive a gift for your soon-to-be-born baby.
Referral Requirement:All families must be referred through a government or non-government organization to ensure assistance goes to those who need it most. Please put down a name and contact information when asked to do so in the online form.
Eligible referral partners include:
Social Services or other government offices
NGOs and community organizations
Churches and schools
RCMP, EMS, and local fire departments
Delivery Dates:
Whitehorse: Deliveries take place December 13th between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Please make sure you’re home, and notify us if your address has changed.
Communities: Deliveries will occur December 15th–19th. Each family will receive a call before their package arrives. Specific dates will be shared on our social media as they’re confirmed.
What Families Receive:
Gifts for each child valued at approximately $75
Food for a Christmas meal valued at approximately $150
Privacy and Confidentiality:
All personal information is securely protected. Families are identified only by assigned family numbers within our confidential database.

A key part of Share the Spirit Yukon is matching generous donors with families in need. By completing our online sponsor form below, you’ll receive a wish list for children from across the Yukon who could use a little extra joy this Christmas.
To protect privacy, families are identified only by a unique family number.
At this time, our only gift drop-off location is in Whitehorse at 206 Jarvis Street (the old 202 Bar). Sponsors from other communities are welcome — we just ask that gifts arrive in Whitehorse no later than December 12th.
Drop-off hours:
December 6–10: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
December 10–12: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM

The Whitehorse Firefighters Charitable Society works year-round to raise funds for Share the Spirit Yukon, but we continue to rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to make it all possible.
Your donations not only help us continue providing food and gifts to some of the Yukon’s most vulnerable families, but also allow the program to grow so we can reach even more people in need. Our goal is simple — to ensure that no Yukon child is left wanting at Christmas. Together, we can make that happen.

Elf Central is closed until Dec 6th 2025
This year, Elf Central is located at 202 Bar at 206 Jarvis Street. We’ll be working there throughout the month, but here are the key dates to keep in mind:
Sponsorship Drop-Off:
December 6th to 10th: 11am - 3 PM
December 10th to 12th: 4 PM - 8 PM
Wrapping Sessions:
December 10th to 13th: 5 PM - 8 PM Link for wrapping will be posted Dec 1st
Gift Deliveries:
Whitehorse: Saturday, December 13th
Communities: December 15th to 19th
